On behalf of FTS coaches and staff, we would like to congratulate Jai Curran-Nicholls (19 years of age) on signing his first Professional Contract with Salford City FC in the UK.
As many would know, Salford City FC play in League Two and are owned by the ‘Class of 92’, ex-Manchester United players David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt.
This is an exciting moment for Jai as he starts a new chapter as a professional footballer in England.

It is the dream of every young player in Australia to sign a professional contract in Europe. So few actually get this opportunity, for Jai this is a reflection of his hard work, discipline and determination and the constant support and guidance he has from his amazing family.
Jai started training with us when he was 6 years of age, he joined our development squads at the age of 9 and stayed with us until 17 years of age when he left to the UK.
Jai is an imposing midfielder, not only is he intelligent and technically gifted, but he brings a physical presence standing at 6’2” (188cm).
If you were going to compare his profile to that of other modern day established midfielders, you would be looking at the likes of Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, Declan Rice and Busquets.
You can read the official announcement on the Salford City FC website here.
We are all extremely proud of Jai and wish him well as he embarks on his professional football career
